Introduction
We are pleased to provide you with the opportunity to view some of our photographs and offer them for sale. In addition, through internet links we are offering books and videos on wildlife, nature, photography, conservation, and ecology. On the book and video pages we provide our own review on why we believe these books and videos are worth reading and viewing. We will be adding pages on photographic tips and information for the traveler, on conservation, and other important links.
All our photographs were taken of the wildlife or plants in their natural habitats. As biologists and conservationists we take great pains in ensuring that we do not disturb any of the animals during our photography or filming. It is our goal to observe and document these creatures while they are behaving normally. We are very active in assisting conservation programs in the United States, Kenya, Guatemala, and Ecuador to help protect species and their native habitats. In most cases, our assistance has been through our biological expertise. But when possible, we use our photography and film documentaries to help provide educational material, public service messages, or funding for specific projects.
Who are we?
Niall McCarten and Roxanne Bittman are professional biologists, photographers, and filmmakers (see about us) with 20 years of experience conducting research on plants and wildlife, participating in conservation programs, and doing photography and film documentation. Why are we called Cheetah Films & Photography? Cheetahs, and other wild cats, are very special animals to us. The cheetah's speed, stealth, and elegance captures many of nature's remarkable traits that we respect and appreciate.
The "Films" part is an ongoing program of developing environmental awareness, education, wildlife, and nature videos. To date our completed videos have been for specific clients and we cannot sell their products. Using stock footage of plants, wildlife, and habitats we have produced environmental training videos as well as public service announcements. If you have particular stock video needs please e-mail us, we may have what you want. All our video stock footage is digital DVCAM.
